Special Interests: Care of newborn babies, especially those who are born with health issues or prematurely.

Special Interests: Childhood diseases especially developmental and psychosocial problems, respiratory, neurology, endocrine (diabetes) and neonatology. Palliative care, and adolescent and young adult medicine.
Dr Gihan Piyatunge

Special Interests: Complex medical and neurodevelopmental conditions, and child and adolescent mental health. He also has extensive experience caring for newborns and infants with a range of medical concerns, including those requiring specialised follow-up after hospital discharge.

Special Interests: Infant health issues such as failure to thrive, eczema, food intolerances, heart murmurs etc. Supporting parents experiencing difficulties with infant feeding and settling, monitoring and supporting developmental progression, managing developmental delays and other neurodiverse conditions like ASD and ADHD, complex genetic conditions, NDIS advocacy, holistic child and family support in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team.

Our newly launched Feeding Clinic at NAP Care offers a collaborative session with our speech pathologist Alana and dietitian Katie, designed to support you and your child with any feeding or nutrition concerns. Alana gently explores your child’s feeding skills through discussion and observation, while Katie reviews their medical history, growth, and dietary intake. Together they provide practical, personalised advice to help your child thrive.

Alana Turbitt is an experienced speech pathologist with a background in paediatric care across hospital, community, and early intervention settings. She has a special interest in infant feeding and has worked extensively in neonatal intensive care and special care nurseries. Alana is passionate about collaborative, family-centred care that supports children and their families to thrive.

Katie is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a passion for supporting children and families to feel confident about food and nutrition. She has experience working across paediatrics in both hospital and community settings, helping with everything from fussy eating and growth concerns to allergies, gut issues, and complex medical conditions. Her approach is warm and practical, focused on building trust with families and offering advice that fits real life. She is committed to helping children develop a positive relationship with food that lasts a lifetime.

Ingrid Stefaniw is a highly experienced Lactation Consultant with a Master’s degree in Neonatal Intensive Care and over 11 years of hands-on experience caring for critically ill and premature newborns. Drawing on her extensive clinical background, Ingrid founded Baby Coach — a service designed to bridge the gap in healthcare by providing personalised, in-home support for families with newborns.
Passionate about empowering parents during the often-overwhelming early days of infant care, Ingrid combines expert lactation support with practical, compassionate guidance. Her calm, supportive approach helps families feel confident, connected, and well-supported in their feeding journey and beyond.

Casey is an experienced physiotherapist with a background in paediatrics spanning a wide range of hospital and community settings. She works with children with a range of medical and developmental concerns, with a particular interest in evidence based early intervention.
As a mum of four children herself, Casey understands that every child develops at their own pace and in their own way, and she enjoys working with families and their health teams to build a focus on participation, purpose and play. She is also passionate about educating current and future physiotherapists on holistic and patient centred paediatric care, and teaches Paediatric Physiotherapy at the Australia Catholic University (ACU).
