Dr Sen Gupta is a General Paediatrician and a Neonatologist with a vast and long experience of over 25 years both in Australia and India. He specialises in childhood diseases especially developmental and psychosocial problems, respiratory, neurology, endocrine (diabetes) and neonatology. He has a special interest in palliative care and adolescent and young adult medicine.

He was awarded the FRACP (General Paediatrics and Child Health) recently after three and a half years of advanced training in 2017.

He graduated in India and worked as a fully qualified Paediatrician in one of the most populous cities in the world, Kolkata (Calcutta), before moving to Australia for a change in pace.

Dr Supratik has completed the entire training programme of the RACP in General Paediatrics so he can care for children in to the best of his ability in alignment with Australian standards.

Dr Supratik commenced working at Ipswich General Hospital in 2006 when he first arrived in Australia. He has since worked in most hospitals in South-east Queensland and Northern New South Wales including Royal Children’s Hospital, Mater Children’s Hospital, Caboolture Hospital, Gold Coast University Hospital, Logan Hospital, Tweed Hospital and Royal Brisbane & Womens Hospital.  

Over the past 12 years, he has worked in general paediatrics, neonatal intensive care nursery, paediatric intensive care units, paediatric emergency departments, paediatric gastroenterology units, respiratory units, and neurology units. He has gathered a vast and varied experience during his training period including working in tertiary hospitals including Royal Children’s Hospital, Brisbane and the Mater Children’s Hospital, Brisbane.

He is well-versed with advanced skills in Neonatology and has excellent airway skills both with neonates and with older children. During his time at PICU at the Mater Children’s Hospital, and at GCUH he worked under supervision with the Paediatric Anaesthetic team as part of his roster.

He has great communication skills and understands that communication is the cornerstone in delivering healthcare comprehensively. He provides clear explanations of diagnosis, management options and procedures, and strives to keep GPs and families well- informed.
